Echinocactus includes six species native to Mexico. Plants are more or less globose, reaching 60 cm (2 feet) in height and 30 cm (1 foot) in diameter. The genus is best known for its numerous wavy ribs and elongated fruits.

Description
Watering:
Water infrequently and make sure the soil drains completely.
Fertilizer:
Throughout the growing season, feed with a weak liquid cactus fertilizer.

Temperature:
Temperatures ranging from 10 to 23.8 degrees Celsius are ideal, but no lower than 5 degrees Celsius to avoid frost.
